Are you feeling in a sporty mood? We have THE competition for you! Note this date carefully: Sunday April 21th the third edition of the ultra-trail will take place.
An ultra-trail is a foot race, taking place in the countryside, with a marked route of more than 80 kilometers. For the third consecutive year, the La 14-18 association is organizing The Red Line trail, a sporting competition 104 kilometers, which follows in the footsteps of the poilus on terrain marked by the First World War.
A few kilometers from the Lisières de l'Oise is the village of Thiescourt. It will mark the start of this ultra-trail. If the journey starts here, it is no coincidence. Like many villages in our department, Thiescourt suffered consequences from the start of the First World War. In September 1914, the village was under German occupation. The Church serves as an ambulance: an advanced aid station as close as possible to the front and capable of receiving injured soldiers for first aid before evacuation to a military hospital. Next to it, the Germans built a military cemetery, which is still present, having become adjoining the French National Necropolis (officially created in 1920).
