From Compiègne to Pierrefonds 

A STORY ON THE HISTORY OF THE TERRITORY

Created within the Museum of Art and History de Compiègne, the historical immersion site “Know Compiègne!” » offers a unique space for interpretation of the territory. An introductory film associated with 9 interactive stations promises an immersive discovery of the emblematic sites of the Compiègne-Pierrefonds destination. 
 
The interpretation materials showcase the history of nine major places such as the Gallo-Roman site of Champlieu, the Saint-Corneille cloister, the Saint-Pierre des Minimes church, the castle de Compiègne, the Pierrefonds castle, the Eugénie pavilion, the town hall... The visitor immerses himself in the history of the territory thanks to fun and innovative multimedia devices.  
 
At the end of your visit to this new museum space, you are invited to continue the experience on the territory with an exploration notebook. This fun and educational paper support allows you to discover the treasures of the destination.   

A unique space 

WITHIN THE ANTOINE VIVENEL MUSEUM 

This new space set up in a 50m2 room is part of the permanent tour route of the Antoine Vivenel Museum. The latter has also been redeveloped to accommodate this innovative project. The entrance to the museum is now on the courtyard side, accessible from Songeons Park. 
 
This unique project offers multimedia devices at the cutting edge of innovation specially created for this regional interpretation center. Augmented reality, 3D modeling, digital projection and mapping techniques offer incredible visual and sound immersion. The archive funds of the libraries and graphic arts of the Antoine Vivenel museum integrated into the various devices are now accessible to the visitor. 
 
The integration of this new scenographic space into the heart of the museum is part of a vast modernization project for the museum. In 2024, the Mediterranean Antiquities Hall will be renovated.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

The entrance ticket for the historical immersion site can be purchased in the various museums of the City de Compiègne (Antoine Vivenel museum, Historical Figurine museum, Saint-Corneille cloister museum) as well as at theOffice de Tourisme de Compiègne. 

Visiting times:

• Monday: weekly closing
• Tuesday: 10 a.m.-12 p.m. / 14 p.m.-18 p.m.
• Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 14 p.m. - 18 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m.-12 p.m. / 14 p.m.-18 p.m. 

Fees :

It is possible to purchase a ticket for the Historic Immersion Site alone or a combined SIH and museum ticket. 

• Full price: €4 for the SIH alone and €7 for the ticket combined with one of the city's museums de Compiègne.
• Reduced price: €3 for the SIH alone and €5 for the ticket combined with one of the city's museums de Compiègne.
• Free for children under 6 years old.
