The tourist tax

What is it ?

The tourist tax is a compulsory contribution paid by any person not residing in the territory who stays for a fee with a host. It is due per person and per night. Its amount varies according to the type of accommodation (hotel, campsite, bed and breakfast, furnished accommodation, etc.) and according to its classification.

What is it for ?

The tourist tax is intended to finance expenditure favoring tourist attendance, i.e. all the services and equipment from which tourists benefit directly and immediately.

What should I do ?

Whether your accommodation is classified or not, it is subject to tourist tax (the rate varies according to the classification). As a host, you must collect it and then transfer it to your Office de Tourisme.

In order to facilitate the calculation, declaration and collection of this tax, the Communities of Municipalities of the Agglomeration of the Region de Compiègne and Lisières de l'Oise in partnership with the Tourist Offices have set up a platform for collecting tourist tax.
