About us

In Cuise-la-Motte, an open-air geology book. Come stroll and let yourself be carried away by your imagination: the dinosaurs have recently disappeared, the mammals have replaced them, the first equines and the first primates have appeared, a luxuriant mangrove surrounds you, the cries of birds resound regularly…. Discover one of the best preserved geological sites in the Ypresian. The deposit is very rich and the hundreds of species found on site such as invertebrates, molluscs, fish or crustaceans come to establish that 50 million years ago there was a warm sea here (from 16° to 22°) and shallow. The best-known fossils from this geosite are the Nummulites.
