The Compiègne-Pierrefonds destination offers a wide variety of pond fishing routes that will delight beginners and experienced alike. Whether on a pond in the public domain or on a private site, angling promises a real connection with nature.

IN THE FOREST OF COMPIÈGNE

The ponds of Saint-Pierre

Located east of the national forest de Compiègne, the three ponds of Saint-Pierre offer an exceptional setting for angling in a preserved and peaceful environment.

A footpath around the edge of the ponds provides access to multiple fishing spots. You can also admire the hunting lodge of Empress Eugénie, who liked to welcome her guests there.

The ponds of Saint-Pierre, Rouillie, Étot, Buissonnet and Sainte-Périne total 18 hectares of fresh water mainly populated by carp, tench, pike and perch.

The ponds of Verberie

South de Compiègne, ponds of Verberie remain a favorite spot for fishing enthusiasts. Nestled in the heart of unspoiled nature, the fishing site is home to five ponds on 63 hectares of fresh water. An educational trail allows you to discover the fauna and the aquatic environment.

The site offers an ideal setting for fishing with equipped fishing stations, shelters and sanitary facilities. The ponds are full of many species of fish such as carp, pike, roach, zander or even black bass.

Small intimate ponds

Other public ponds are well known to fishermen like theCarandeau pond on the banks of the Aisne orNeuffontaines pond north of Pierrefonds. The latter, run by an association, hosts many fishing competitions.

 Fishing in a pond

How does it work?

To fish on a pond in the public domain and on courses managed by fishing associations (AAPPMA), you must bringa fishing card. But if you opt for a fishing trip on a private pond, all you have to do is pay the owner a day or half-day package.

Are you looking for fishing equipment? Go to the “Pêche et Nature” store in the nearby town of Clairoix de Compiègne. And to find out all about the regulations, visit the website of the Oise Federation for Fishing and the Protection of the Aquatic Environment.
